My story

I’m Libby, and somewhere along the way Thermomix became about a lot more to me than just a clever machine on the kitchen bench.

I grew up in Geraldine in a home where food was pretty simple and wholesome. There was always something growing in the garden, meat in the freezer, baking happening, preserving to be done, and food was just part of everyday life. I probably didn’t appreciate that quite as much at the time as I do now.

These days life looks a little different. It’s busy, work is full, and I understand how quickly cooking can become another thing sitting on an already long list. I still really value knowing what’s in our food and making things from scratch where it makes sense, but I’m also a big believer that it needs to fit into real life. I’m not interested in making things harder just for the sake of saying I made them myself.

That’s probably why Thermomix clicked for me.

Everyone buys one for a different reason. Sometimes it’s about saving time, sometimes it’s cooking more from scratch, getting out of a food rut, reducing the amount we buy, or simply taking some of the thinking out of everyday meals. Usually, once it arrives, it ends up becoming useful in ways you didn’t necessarily expect.

What I love most about this work isn’t really selling Thermomix. It’s helping people work out whether one actually makes sense for their lifestyle, showing them how to use it in a way that suits them, and then being there long after the box has arrived because it is an investment. I don’t take that lightly.

I want people who choose to buy through me to feel like they’ve got someone in their corner — whether that’s learning the basics, getting out of a cooking rut six months later, asking a question that feels silly, coming along to a workshop, or simply needing a bit of inspiration.

I’m based in Rolleston, Canterbury, but I support customers throughout New Zealand and while Thermomix is a big part of what I do, Shared Territory has grown into something a little broader too — cooking workshops, sourdough, seasonal food and creating spaces where people can learn without feeling like they need to already know what they’re doing.

I just happen to really believe that good food doesn’t need to be complicated, and life is generally nicer when we can make a few of the everyday things feel easier.
